San Diego’s Cucina Urbana restaurant is now Jeff and Lindsay favorite spot; it’s where the 29-year-olds met on their first date, having been introduced by mutual friends. Jeff and Lindsay Swain (formerly Cross) designed her engagement ring together before Jeff proposed on their two-year anniversary. The couple got married on Flag Day, 2015 (especially meaningful, since Jeff is in the Navy) at Rancho Santa Fe’s luxury Rancho Valencia hotel. The ceremony included both Irish and Jewish traditions, and the 105-guest reception went off without a hitch (a pretty big deal, as Lindsay is a wedding coordinator!). Their colors were navy and white with gold accents, chosen because they are classic and timeless.
Looking through their wedding album, you can see the amount of detail that went into every decision: the tributes to Jeff’s love for baseball, shown in the stadium themed table names, ticket stub seating cards, and custom jersey shaped cookies. And, the guest take-away’s: personal silhouettes drawn on site and framed for each guest. Lindsay’s eye for design and fashion was more than evident in every little touch, as she personally oversaw the creation of each element. And her advice about it all? “Relax and have fun. It can be very stressful, but take a moment to remember what you are doing and why. You are throwing a party to celebrate meeting the love of your life. It’s all worth it in the end.”
